What's new in Ohio for 2027

CareSource is leaving Ohio's individual market and Molina won't offer Marketplace plans in 2027, so members of both must switch. AmeriHealth Caritas is joining, and at least nine insurers will offer coverage.

Leaving the Ohio Marketplace for 2027: CareSource, Molina (on-exchange plans). If you have one of these plans, pick a new plan by December 15 to avoid a gap in coverage starting January 1.

Across the country, the median proposed 2027 premium increase is about 15% (Peterson-KFF Health System Tracker). The extra federal subsidies that capped premiums at 8.5% of income expired at the end of 2025, and the 400% of poverty "subsidy cliff" is back for 2027 (Congressional Research Service). That makes reviewing your plan and your income estimate more important than usual. See our 2027 subsidy income limits guide.
